In the heart of Downtown Spokane, in what used to be The Washington Cracker Company, lies a renovated warehouse turned wine cellar and tasting room: Overbluff Cellars. This space still retains a lot of its original features, including exposed brick, industrial accents, and original hardwood floors. Overbluff Cellars is one of Spokane’s prime wedding venue locations, and I’ll share all the details with you so you can decide if this space is right for your big day. Get to Know Overbluff Cellars

Where is it?

Overbluff Cellars is located on Pacific Avenue in Spokane, Washington. This venue takes up the main part of the building, and is accessible from both the east and south entrances. There are a few other businesses located inside, including:

Why Get Married at Overbluff Cellars?

Moving onto what you really wanna know: what are the benefits of getting married at Overbluff Cellars? This venue is not only beautiful, but there are a few ideal aspects of this space.

Venue Space

First off, it has a large private indoor ceremony/reception space! It’s perfect for weddings of all sizes, and is ideal for couples who don’t want to worry about less than ideal kinds of weather. In additional to the indoor space, the venue includes a private covered patio. Additional patio space is available upon request.

Occupancy:

485 standing (no tables or chairs)

255 with tables (additional occupancy available with different table layouts)

Parking

The area also has ample parking for guests, which is very difficult to find in Downtown Spokane.

On-Site Parking Lot (East of Building):

The on-site parking to the east is a shared parking lot for all patrons of the building. It is open to be used for your event, but its availability is not guaranteed.

Paid Diamond Parking – 35 Spots (West of Building):
Diamond will allow you to reserve their lot for your event upon request, making it more convenient for your guests. If not reserved, there will be normal parking fees.

Street Parking – 75 Plus Spots (Within 1 block of building)

Planning Your Wedding at Overbluff Cellars and Venue Amenities

Overbluff Cellars includes a few different amenities for your wedding day. These include:

• A small private loft room that looks out over the event space
• Two different bar areas (one could be used for food and the other for drinks)
• Event center private restrooms
• An elevated stage area that’s perfect for a DJ or band setup
• Mobile seating booths (yes, that means they can be moved!)
• Wine barrels that can be used for decor or extra table space
• 60in round wood tables
• 36in x 60in rectangular wood tables
• Metal chairs

Catering

Overbluff Cellars Event Center has its own on-site catering located in the
building. Using this catering service makes the planning, set-up, service, and clean-up of your wedding much easier on you. The food is prepared in the basement restaurant kitchen and brought directly to the venue space, so none of your reception area will be taken up by food prep! You can choose anything from light appetizers to large buffets.

The venue also allows off-site catering if you choose, keeping your options open! If you decide to go in this direction, please keep in mind that there isn’t a food prep space available for outside caterers to use, meaning they will need to prepare all of the food off-site, or use a portion of the venue space for this purpose. Depending on the company you choose, there may be additional service fees applied to your venue cost.

Bar Service

Along with catering, Overbluff Cellars also offers an in-house bar service and works under their approved liquor license. You can choose to serve beer and/or wine, but no hard liquor is allowed. Because this is a wine cellar, all of these wines are made by Overbluff Cellars and are completely local! (That’s kind of a flex, right?) You can choose to have a hosted (you are paying for the drinks and giving them away to guests) or no host bar (guests are paying for their own drinks). If their choice of beer isn’t what you’re looking for, feel free to ask about getting a special order of other options.

You can also choose to get your own banquet permit to serve alcohol. Banquet permits are ~$15 and can be applied for online. Be sure to double check with the venue to see what the requirements are for this option.

Common FAQs About Overbluff Cellars

Q: Can I expect a quiet space for my wedding?

A: Not necessarily. Since this venue shares a building with other businesses, there is a chance that you will hear noise from those other spaces. Overbluff Cellars is also located right next to the train tracks, and it is more than likely that a train will come by at some point during your wedding.

Q: Is there an easy way to plan the layout of the reception without having to measure the venue?

A: You can send an email to eventcenter@overbluffcellars.com requesting a scale planning sheet. A scale drawing including table measurements will be emailed to you. This is a great tool for planning your floor plan and reception space flow!

Wedding Packages and Cost

Overbluff Cellars Event Center offers a few different wedding packages, along with optional service add-ons to fit your specific wedding day needs. These prices listed here include tax and service fees. 

Weekday Wedding Package (Monday – Thursday):

$1200.00 (10:00am day-of – 10:00am following day)

Weekend Wedding Package (Saturday & Sunday):

$2800.00 (10am day-of – 10am following day)

$3500.00 (2pm day prior – 10:00am day after – 44 hours)

Optional Add-On Services:

• On-Site Catering: Negotiated Pricing
• 1st Bartender: $200.00 – Includes bar set-up and up to 6 hrs of service ($15/hr each additional hr)
• 2nd Bartender: $100.00 – Includes service up to 6 hrs (15/hr each additional hr)
• Secondary Bar Setup: $250.00 – Applies to a second bar or a single bar outside of the original bar area
• Sound System Use: $50.00 – Set-up for playlist and microphone use only
• Projector & Screen Use: $25.00 – Set-up only
• Coffee Service: $50.00 – Includes regular and decaf coffee, paper cups, sugar, cream
• Full Coffee Bar: Negotiated Pricing
